Starting March 3, 2008, you will no longer need to sign on using the two-factor matrix. The new on-line banking security structure is a flexible, layered system designed to learn each end user’s habits and adapt to his/her usage pattern. For the first 30 days of the new system there will be no discernable difference when using on-line banking. During that 30-day period the computer will be collecting data on each user to be used for verification purposes.
After the 30-day period, you will be stopped at log-in when your account is switched to the new procedures. (All accounts are being added to the new system over 6 weeks with approximately 900 accounts each week.) You will be asked to answer selected “challenge” questions to be used for authentication if the system deems a transaction to be “high-risk”. The new security method authenticates all users behind the scenes based on the previous collected information and will only ask for the “second” layer of security “challenge” questions if it detects a change in normal patterns.
If you answer all questions incorrectly, your account will be locked and you will have to contact an administrator during business hours, Monday – Friday 8 am – 4:30 pm.
