Whether you need a four-year degree from a college or university or a shorter program of study at a business/trade/nursing school, American Education Services (AES) offers a variety of student loans to meet your needs.
OMEGA FCU, in cooperation with the federal government and AES, offers loan programs enabling you, as a qualified student, to secure long-term education loans at low rates. Whether you are attending a post-secondary school now or planning to do so, loans are an option to be considered. Financial aid options, such as scholarships and grants, should be considered first as they do not require repayment. Student loans must be repaid.

Subsidized Federal Stafford Loan |
The federal government will pay the interest on this loan while you are attending school on at least a half-time basis.
You must have "financial need" to qualify for this type of loan.
"Need" is the cost of education (tuition, room and board, personal expenses), minus other financial aid (grants, scholarships, work-study, other loans), minus your Expected Family Contribution (EFC).
The difference is your "financial need."

Unsubsidized Federal Stafford Loan |
You are responsible for interest on this loan from the date it is disbursed.
The federal government does not pay interest on your behalf.
This loan is limited to your cost of education minus other financial aid.
No Expected Family Contribution is used in the calculation for this loan.

Parent Plus |
The Parent Loan for Undergraduate Students, or PLUS, is a loan taken out by parents of a dependent student who has borrowed the maximum Stafford Loan Eligibility amount for school.
The PLUS loan is used to cover the costs of education that remain unpaid by other student aid.
Repayment of PLUS loans begins 60 days after disbursement.
Immediate deferment of payments is also available.
OMEGA FCU participates in the Parent Plus Program.

In order to qualify, you must be a Pennsylvania resident attending any school, or an out-of state resident attending a Pennsylvania School.
As with all federal loans, students who intend to borrow must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to determine eligibility.
Apply at any OMEGA FCU office or online at www.aesSuccess.org.
If applying online - be sure to click the appropriate loan type and then click on Apply Now!
Then just follow the online instructions.
Be sure to include OMEGA FCU's lender number when instructed to do so - this number is 832748.

You will need the following items before completing the Online PLUS Master Promissory Note (MPN).
- Your Social Security Number (SSN), date of birth, permanent home address, and driver's license number.
- The name of the college or university you plan to attend.
- The names, addresses, and telephone numbers of two separate references (please note, the references must not be living at the same U.S. address.)
You will need this to Sign...
- Use your PIN to sign and submit your MPN electronically. You must have your U.S. Department of Education PIN if you plan to electronically sign your MPN. If you need to obtain a new PIN, go to pin.ed.gov or call 1.800.4 FED AID (1.800.433.3243).
- Request AES to print the MPN and mail it to you.
- Print the MPN on your printer, then sign, date and return it to:
